John Kovac, MA, RP, RMFT

With over 13 years as a psychotherapist, counsellor and a Registered Marriage & Family Therapist (RMFT), John Kovac works with adults, couples, children, adolescents, and families.

John received his M.A. in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, and is a clinical member of both the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists (OACCPP).

Clinical services are available in four languages including English, Serbian, Hungarian, and Croatian.

John’s personal therapeutic methods adjust to assist his clients towards a happier and more fulfilling life. His own deep and creative life has helped him develop an engaging and invigorating approach to working with his clients.

He believes that successful therapy begins with finding the right therapist for any particular individual. To help you accomplish this, during your initial consultation, he establishs whether you are comfortable with his approach to therapy, training and experience. You can ask any questions and find answers that are relevant to developing a strong, professional therapeutic relationship with him.

In order for people to grow, change, heal, and thrive, they need to be treated with empathy, compassion, and dignity as a human being. This is why his treatment philosophy takes a humanistic and holistic approach to helping his clients improve their overall well-being.

Through talk-therapy and other methods of inquiry, John can help pinpoint the specific area, or areas, that you are not in balance. If needed, bio-feedback or mindfulness training may be utilized on the way towards deeper self-understanding.

John’s gentle and heartfelt work guides and inspires you into a deeper understanding of your own life, and empowers you to take responsibility for your issues.

Once these areas have been identified, work can begin on healing and understanding the imbalance and then the doorway to better mental health opens.
